Choose your own adventure.

Four rooms await: the Words room, the Herbarium room, the Garden room, and the Ghost room. Each space more luxurious and titillating than the last. And this rabbit hole adventure? Courtesy of Gucci, of course. ‘Gucci 4 Rooms’ is an art installation and immersive art project, the brainchild of Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele. He’s invited four Japanese artists to create a space inspired by his recent
collections for Gucci, bringing to life the variety of influences and narratives that have appeared in his work.

The talented Chiharu Shiota, Mr., Daito Manabe, and regular Gucci collaborator Trouble Andrew have joined forces for the exhibition that is currently running at Tokyo’s Gucci Ginza and Dover Street Market. For those who cannot get to Tokyo, don’t fret: the Gucci 4 Rooms exhibition has an interactive online game that will let you explore their artworks with almost the same excitement as if you were there in the flesh. Each room flaunts a different aesthetic, different music, different perspective of the multi-faceted Gucci brand.

Chiharu Shiota takes on the ‘Herbarium’, tangling the space with her signature red yarn and sprinkling with ruby leaves; an homage to Gucci’s ‘herbarium’ print that featured fine filigree branches and rose motifs. Mr.’s ‘Garden’ room, on the other hand, takes the flora to neon madness with his burst of manga and anime, the modern Gucci street style flashed by wide-eyed schoolgirl Lolita’s. Daito Manabe’s Words room invites you into the matrix, a fractured explosion of shapes and patterns that highlight some of Gucci’s standout fashion moments, such as their iconic metallic leather bomber jacket. And the Ghost room? Well, that’s the vision of Brooklyn-based graffiti artist and collaborator on S/S ‘16, Trouble Andrew; and a surprise we best leave for you to discover yourself…

Each of the four rooms showcase items from Gucci’s fall/winter 2016 collection, and jewellery from the cruise 2017 collection. Go exploring and fall down Gucci’s rabbit hole today.
